John Murphey, AIA
Senior Associate

Starting his professional career in New England before relocating to Southern California in 1985, Senior Associate John Murphey has contributed to the successful completion of more than thirty projects in the United States and has worked on projects in Canada, Japan, and Israel. With experience at prestigious architecture firms such as Frank O. Gehry & Associates, Inc., Richard Meier and Partners, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill, he has held the lead responsibility as Senior Technical Architect on many projects of national and international importance. These projects include museum, gallery, performing arts, education, commercial, and institutional projects. John expertise in the production of construction documents and construction administration is invaluable to the RSA team. In his role as Senior Technical Architect, he is responsible for consultant coordination, production of construction documents and contract administration; he also serves as Project Manager on selected projects. John’s RSA projects include the Taubman Museum of Art, the Hunter Museum of American Art, and the Art Gallery of Alberta. He is a registered architect in the state of California and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
